CVC & CVCC Word to Picture Match

This CVC & CVCC word-to-picture matching activity is a simple and engaging way to support early literacy, phonics, and blending skills.

Students read and match CVC and CVCC words to the correct pictures by cutting and connecting the matching pieces, helping them practise sound blending and early decoding in a hands-on way. The visuals make the activity accessible and motivating, especially for younger learners or those who benefit from extra support.

This resource includes 36 CVC & CVCC word-to-picture matches in total, along with word strips to help make preparation and sorting easier.

Just print, cut, and you’re ready to go. It works well for literacy centres, small group work, one-to-one sessions, or extra phonics practice.

A Maltese version of this activity is also available, and both versions will later be included in a bundle option.
