Birds & Nests Syllable Sorting Game

This syllable sorting activity is a simple and engaging way to promote early literacy development and phonological awareness.

Students sort the birds according to how many syllables each image has by matching the bird to the correct nest. The visuals help make the activity more accessible and motivating, especially for younger children or those who may need additional support.

This resource includes 20 colourful birds with high-frequency picture cards, 4 syllable sorting nests for sorting, and a word list to facilitate preparation of the activity.

Simply print and cut! Ideal for small group work, individual sessions, or additional practice.

A Maltese version of this activity is also available, and both versions will later be included together in one bundle.
